L’apnée du sommeil est appelée le syndrome d’apnées-hypopnées obstructives du sommeil (SAHOS),
Ce syndrome se caractérise par la survenue d’épisodes anormales de pauses de respiration durant de 10 à 30 secondes et se produisent au moins 5 fois par heure de sommeil (apnée) ou de réductions (hypopnée) de la respiration durant le sommeil.
Les incidents peuvent se répéter une centaine de fois par nuit. Ce syndrome touche 4 % de la population.
Elles sont dues à des obstructions répétées complètes ou partielles des conduits respiratoires de l’arrière-gorge survenant au cours du sommeil.
Ce syndrome est associé à un ronflement nocturne et à une somnolence diurne, conséquence d’un sommeil très perturbé, saccadé er de mauvaise qualité.
Comprendre l’apnée, ses risques ainsi que les pistes naturelles pour les limiter… les risques sont accrus si l’apnée n’est pas pris en charge. Fatigue physique et psychique, troubles de la mémoire, dépression surpoids, risque d’AVC. Le cercle vicieux est la prise de poids car celle ci participe au syndrome et la pris de poids est aggravée par l’apnée.
La fatigue engendrait par le syndrome pousse les gens à manger plus pour se donner de l’énergie.
